Services for Gail "Curly" Vickroy, 69, who died Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, IA, will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 28 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery.

Curly was born rural Warren County, IA and retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber in 1995.  He enjoyed rebuilding and repairing Farmall tractors, riding his motorcycle with his wife and flying as a private pilot.  He was a wonderful grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, Todd (Ronna) Vickroy and Mark (Diane) Vickroy of Indianola; grandchildren Chad Bottorff, Breanna, Bailey and Bryant Vickroy; brothers, FayVickroy of Sun City, AZ, Alvin, Lyle, and Dennis Vickroy of Indianola; sisters, Catherine Stout of Prairie City, IA, Judy White of Altoona, IA, Connie Benge of Winterset, IA and Vera Terry of Pleasant Hill, IA.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Joyce Vickroy; parents, Owen and Hazel Vickroy; brother, Leonard "Doc" Vickroy and sister, Marilyn Bigger.

Visitation will be held from 3 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 27 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present from 6 – 8:00 p.m. to greet friends.
