Gail Freeman, 66, of Indianola, formerly of Creston, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at his home in Indianola. No services will be held at this time. Cremation will take place with inurnment of cremains in the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery in Van Meter at a later date. Mr. Freeman was born in Creston on August 8, 1943 to Glenn and Ethel Freeman. Gail had served in the United States Navy from 1961 through 1965, serving time in Vietnam. He was married June 2, 1967 to Linda Kalar. Together they had two children, but later divorced. Gail had remarried twice. After 25 years of service he retired from Fansteel Wellman-Dynamics.

Surviving are his children, Deb Tyer of Pendleton, OR and Terry (Shelby) Freeman of Creston; grandchildren, Jordan and Amanda Tyer and Ethan and Abby Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert and Harold.
