Services for Friedel Tomes, 89, who died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston, will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, December 5 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery.

Friedel was a homemaker born in Bremen, Germany.

She is survived by her children, Ron (Trissia) Tomes, Ken (Rhonda) Tomes, Jackie (Denny) Ross and Stephen Tomes; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, one brother, and one granddaughter.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 4 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the family in her name.
