Freda Darlene Wright passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa at the age of 93 years.

Freda was born May 15, 1925 to Allen and Minnie (Dunn) Young in rural Warren County, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Paul Gene Wright on April 14, 1945 to which union three children, Gerald, Farrel and Donna, were born.

Freda worked as a waitress at the Liberty Center Café then as a cook for the SE Warren Schools for many years. She served as a leader for 4H, was active at her church and in the ladies aide group helping provide quilts for the church's many bazaars.

Freda was famous for her decorated sugar cookies and made numerous cakes for weddings, anniversaries and birthdays.

She is survived by her husband Paul of 73 years; children, Gerald (Joan) Wright, Farrel Wright, Donna Knust; grandchildren, Leah (Tim) Brown, Jana (Erick) Zawojewski, Drew (Cassidee Parks) Wright, Cory (Kaye) Knust, Sherri (Wade) Schurman, Kelly (Travis) Eckstein; great-grandchildren, Jared, Alec and Kailey Brown, Rhys and Rya Zawojewski, Blake and Emma Schurman, Jake Heinkel and Zach Hunt, Natalie, Makenzie and Grant Eckstein, Emersyn and Irelyn Sliger, and Maylyn Wright.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Minnie Young; and siblings, Almeda Culbertson, Wilma Sams and Verle Young.
