Frank was born in Warren County, IA to Carl and L. Mae (Barber) Strable. He worked in the family business, Strable Construction with his father and brother. He then worked for Armstrong Tire in Des Moines for 30 years and following retirement worked for McCoy's True Value in Indianola. He was active in his church and served as chair of the Deacon Board. He really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and friends.

Frank is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sylvia Strable; children, David (Sally) Strable of Ft. Wayne, IN, Deborah (Eric) Preuss of Badger, IA, Deanna (Dwight) Soethout of Urbandale, IA; grandchildren Gennea, Jordan and Ellie Mae Strable, Matt, Lindsay and Aaron Preuss and Peyton and Connor Soethout; sisters, Phyllis Joan (Virgil) Newhouse of Marion, IA, Sara Sue (John) Groh of Johnston, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack and two infant sisters, Donna Mae and Shirley Lou Strable.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 30 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Family will be present from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. to greet friends. Memorials are preferred to the First Baptist Church in Indianola.
