Funeral services for Frank Ford, Jr., 80, who died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center, will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 13 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Cremation will follow services and burial of cremains will be held at a later date.

Junior was born in Indianola, Iowa and graduated from Indianola High School. He attended Simpson College for two years before enlisting in the United States Army where he served during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage on December 24, 1949 to Betty Risinger. Junior had worked as a store manager for Hy-Vee in Indianola for 35 years before retiring. He had also worked with his brother, Jim Ford, in the real estate business for 15 years and for many years was the spotter at the Simpson College and Indianola High School football games where his brother announced.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Craig (Arla) Ford of North Bend, OR, Deborah (Jim Audsley) Schroder of Johnston; brother, Jim (Marty) Ford of Indianola; sisters, Kathleen Cook of Corning, Betty (Bob) Wiedmann of Indianola and Judy (Ron) Gatrel of Phoenix, AZ; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 13 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be given to the Iowa Lions Foundation.
