Services for Francis Rawn Shunk, 87, of Liberty Center, formerly of Des Moines, who died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 26 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery. Rawn enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 1943. He was employed by Meridith Publishing Company for 28 years. Rawn loved music, playing trombone, guitar and piano and singing in a band. He loved animals, idolizing his dogs. Survivors include his son, Ricky; daughters, Cindy, Rawnene, Jackie and Rhonda; step-daughters, Victoria and Janet; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
