Services for Forrest Gerrold Bruce, 83, of Indianola, who passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 14 at the Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the IOOF Cemetery, Indianola.

Forrest was proud to be a lifelong resident of Indianola, growing old in the same house he grew up. In his youth he liked to spend time outdoors hunting and fishing. During his work life he was a skilled carpenter and helped to build many of the homes in the community. In retirement he enjoyed working in his garage and visiting with friends. He was known for his sense of humor and will be missed.

Forrest is survived by his children, Steven Bruce, Kris Bruce, Traci (William) Lehnen; three grandchildren, Michael, Katie and Brianna; sister, Mary Bruce; brother-in-law, David (Linda) Allen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Ercell Bruce.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Helping Hand in Indianola.
