FERNA JOYCE REYNOLDS

Ferna Joyce (Worm) Reynolds, 83, of Indianola, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines, IA. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and will have a burial service at a later date.

Ferna was born September 22, 1934 in Rockwell City, IA to Fred Davis Worm and Zelma Ann (Leeper) Worm. She grew up with her family in Newell, Melcher, Indianola and Peru, IA and graduated from Winterset High School. She worked after High School for Northwestern Bell Telephone for seven years.

Joyce married Robert Reynolds on April 27, 1958 and moved to the farm in New Virginia. She worked seasonally for Comito Apple Orchard in Cumming for 14 years, McDonalds in Indianola and was a rural mail carrier in New Virginia.

Joyce was a member of the New Virginia United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Women's Relief Corps and New Virginia Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Roger Dean, and husband Robert. She is survived by her brother, Leroy Worm; sister, Marlene Behrens; sons, Dan (Ranee) Reynolds of Rockwell City and Martin (Jo) Reynolds of Indianola; six grandchildren, Clayton (Tonya) Reynolds, Adam (Sarah Jo) Reynolds, Heidi (Nathan) Gruis, Blake Reynolds, Allison (Dillon) Cunningham, and Brandon Reynolds; and seven great-grandchildren, Cole and Ava Reynolds, Ty and Tillie Reynolds, Stella Gruis, and Dayton and Dominic Cunningham.
