Graveside services for Evelyne May Simmons, 83, of Indianola, will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 12 at Hammondsburg Cemetery in Milo, Iowa.

Evelyne was born on May 21, 1937 at home in Warren County, Iowa to Marion and Luella (Benge) Byers.  She attended rural school until moving to Indianola.  She worked many years at Good Samaritan Nursing Home as a CMA before she retired in 1995 due to an automobile accident.

Evelyne is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Freddie, daughter Anita, son John and granddaughter Crystal.

She is survived by her son, Samuel (Karrie);  grandchildren, Valerie, Angela, Samuel, Brandon, Lindsey, John and Christopher; her brothers, Ray Byers and Archie Byers;  great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
