Mrs. Sones was born March 2, 1913, in Parma, Idaho to Curtis and Clara Hammon.  She was a homemaker and had retired following many years of employment at Simpson College in Indianola.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, a son Jerry, and her grandson Steve Schee.

She is survived by her daughter Betty (Ray) Schee of Smithville, MO; two sons, Don (Judy) and Ron (Mary) Sones of Carlisle; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 2 – 5 p.m., Sunday, September 14, at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 3 – 5 p.m.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lighthouse Community Church in Des Moines.
