Evelyn Marie Hill, 85, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.  Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 16, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the New Virginia Cemetery, New Virginia, IA.

Born August 19, 1925, Evelyn Marie Stuart was the daughter of Raymon and Gladys Stuart.  She married Maurice (Max) Hill in 1947.  Evelyn worked as a receptionist at the Warren Co. Court House and retired as a cook from the Martensdale St. Marys Community Schools after many years.  She was a member of the Center Chapel United Methodist Church.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Max; daughter, Nancy Smalley on Tuesday October 12; brother, Lyle Stuart; sister, Esther Stuart; and her parents.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Buzz) Sampson of Indianola, Joyce (Mike) Edwards of West Des Moines, and Marilyn (Glenn) Morris of Norwalk; son, Maurice (Teresa) Hill of Norwalk; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Leonard Stuart; and a son-in-law, George Smalley.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 15 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. to greet friends.  Memorials may be given to Center Chapel United Methodist Church or Martensdale Lions Hall Meal Site.
