Evelyn C. Downey, 91, passed away on April 20, 2009 in Placentia, CA. She was proceeded in death by her husband Ivyl and her son Roger. Evelyn is survived by her son Dale, daughter in law Carol, 2 granddaughters Jody and Laura, her sisters Rose Scarpino, Twyla Sockriter, 5 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Evelyn was a teacher for 42 years in both Iowa and then in San Diego, CA. She loved to travel and spend time with family and friends.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday April 25th at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, IA where family will be present to visit with friends from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m.
