Esther A. Huffman was born March 12, 1911 in rural Warren County, Iowa and died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center.  Esther was a life long resident of Warren County.  She worked as a secretary for the State of Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Warren County Human Services and also at General Mills.  Esther volunteered for many years with the Helping Hand in Indianola.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Dean (Diana) Huffman of Hot Springs Village, AR; sister, Wilma Wohlwend of Indianola; 4 grandsons, Curtis and Michael Huffman, Kent and Scott Ruble; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Dean Huffman; daughter, Betty Ruble; brothers, Warren and Worth Henry; and her sister, Elizabeth Nichols.

Services will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, September 15th at the First Baptist Church in Indianola of which she was a member.  Burial will follow at the Sandyville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
