Services for Eric Lee Estell, 25, of Wick, Iowa, who passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, June 4, 2023, will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial following in the St. Charles Cemetery, St. Charles, Iowa.

When Eric, "Chub", was born on September 26, 1997, to his parents Dennis Estell and Patty West, the world shined so much brighter. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Eric, you would know that he had one of the kindest hearts and was such a wonderful human.

Eric loved his friends more than anything. His favorite pastime was going down the road and hanging out with all his buddies. There was never a dull moment when the boys got together. You never knew what kind of shenanigans they were going to get themselves into. He was surrounded by the best second families, who always took care of him like their own. What a comfort it is to know he was loved deeply by so many.

When Eric wasn't with his friends, you would likely find him with his sister. Two peas-in-a-pod they were. From letting her tie him up to do his make-up, to testing new waxing strips out on his eyebrows, they were always having fun. The bond between this sister and brother was something so incredibly special.

If there is anything to take away from such a tragic event, it's to love those in your life with all you have. Live everyday like it's your last, because tomorrow is never guaranteed. In remembering Eric, live as he did, with a tender heart and kind soul.

Eric is survived by his grandmother, Cathy Estell; parents, Dennis Estell and Patty West; brother, Scott Estell; sister, PJ (Jeremy) Donohue; his nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; all his cousins; and all of his friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Earl Estell.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., prior to services, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eric's memorial fund.
