Obituary

Funeral services for Elma Overton Wilcox, 87, formerly of Perry, Iowa, who died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the Lawson Manor in Lawson, Missouri will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 2, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilcox was born in Milo and had lived in Lawson, Mo for one year after moving from Perry, Iowa where she had lived for 30 years. She previously had lived in Cedar Rapids. She had taught at St. Mathews Catholic School in Cedar Rapids and continued at Perry Junior High School. She was a member of the O.K. Chapter of P.E.O. in Perry. She had attended Simpson College where she received her teaching certificate and had been a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. She liked playing Bridge, golfing and knitting and enjoyed watching sports and watching her grandchildren participate.

Surviving are her three daughters, Eleanor (Bill) Mitchell of Albuquerque, N.M., Julie Jackson of Valley Park, MO, and Merry Jane (Randy) Derrow of rural Lawson, MO; step daughters, Ginny Still of Urbandale and Liz (Gary) Ross of Perry; 8 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 9:30 - 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 2 at Overton Funeral Home before services. Memorial may be given to the Regional Care Hospice of Liberty, Mo or Hospice of Central Iowa.
