Libby Kness was born June 9, 1915 in Chadwick, IL and her family moved to Iowa the following year.  She graduated from Audubon High School in 1933 and from Shimer College in Mt. Carroll, IL.   In 1940, Libby married Ralph Rambow and their son, James, was born in Carroll, IA.   In 1957, the family moved to Indianola, when Ralph accepted a position with Simpson College.  Ralph died in 1958.  Libby worked as the circulation librarian for Dunn Library at Simpson College for 24 years, until retiring in 1983.

Libby is survived by her son, James of Indianola; sister, Isabelle of Walnut and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and William Kness; husband, Ralph; brother, William, Jr. and sister, Irene Jewett.
