At the age of 18 she began her career with Blue Cross Blue Shield and she stayed on with them until she retired in 2012. She enjoyed her summers at the race tracks, cross stitching quilts, shopping and her outings with her girlfriends. Her biggest accomplishments were her children and her love for her grandchildren. She lived her life for them and would do anything for them. Eleanor devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members. Her compassion for others was indescribable. She is forever in our hearts and our memories of her will never be forgotten. She is survived by her husband, Gene DeWitt; daughter, Jeanie Marie (Harold) Meyer; son, Travis Gene (Stacy) DeWitt; brother, Larry (Molly) Bowlin; sister-in-law, Lois Bowlin and 3 grandchildren, Nathan Kloberdanz, Wyatt DeWitt and Luke DeWitt. She is proceeded in death by her parents Raymond and Wilma (Foreman) Bowlin; and siblings Ronald Bowlin, Robert Bowlin and Phyllis Elgin. Mother, you left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, although we cannot see you, you're always at our side. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 27 at Overton Funeral Home with family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
