Eldon Kay Heaivilin, 83, of Des Moines, passed away January 26, 2024. Inurnment will take place in the IOOF Cemetery at a later date.

He later joined and served in the armed forces branch of the Army with an honorable discharge in 1968. After the Army, he enjoyed his electronics occupation of working with the Indianola Police Department, several southern counties including the Warren County Sheriff's Office and the DCI in Omaha, Nebraska. After retiring, Eldon and Marcia then moved to Arizona where they lived for 16 years, returning to Des Moines in 2021. In retirement, Eldon still continued to work on electronics, liked to travel with his family, go on long walks with Marcia and was always up for going out to eat.
Eldon is survived by his loving wife, Marcia; daughter, Diane (Mitch) Oldewurtel. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Irene Heaivilin.
Memorials may be given in Eldon's name to Kiya Koda Humane Society.
