Ed Rodgers passed away July 24, 2008 at the Mercy Hospice in Johnston, Iowa.  Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, July 28, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 2 - 7 p.m., Sunday, July 27 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 4 – 7 p.m. to greet friends.

Ed, a retired stock and grain farmer, was born November 5, 1928 to S. Carl and Alta Barnes Rodgers.  He lived his entire life in Warren County.  He was a township trustee, a trustee of the church and he volunteered many years for Meals on Wheels.

Ed is survived by his wife of 58 years, Darlene of Liberty Center; 2 sons, Brent and Brad (Tracy) Rodgers; 2 daughters, Brenda (Greg) Conklin and Beth Ann (Lou) Elbert all of Indianola; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  Also surviving is a brother, N. K. of Mesa, AZ and 2 sisters, Wilma Wright of Indianola and Gilda Borchert of West Des Moines.  Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother Harold, and a sister Pauline.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Liberty Center United Methodist Church or Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
