Edward LeRoy Huntoon, 85, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, in Des Moines. Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 29, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Edward graduated from Tech High School in Des Moines and spent his summers at Harmony Beach at Lake Kabetogama in Minnesota. He worked at the meat market in downtown Des Moines with his Grandpa Roy. He was united in marriage to Nicky Wenck in Indianola. Edward worked for John Deere, as a Deputy Sheriff for Warren County, for the City of Milo, and at the Wastewater Reclamation Authority for the City of Des Moines. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and refurbishing wooden boats.

Edward is survived by his wife, Nicky; children, David (Mindy) Huntoon, Shari Huntoon, Eric (Brandy) Huntoon; step-children, Kristine (John) McDonald, Brenda (Phil) Holt, Anthony (Sara) Wenck; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Steve (Jenny) Huntoon; two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Florence Huntoon.
