Services for Edward Dwight Fry, 83, who passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at The Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Indianola, will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, IA, with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Edward Dwight Fry was born May 25, 1932 in Van Wert, IA. He grew up in the Van Wert area and joined the United States Army in 1953 and served until 1955.

He was united in marriage to Maxine Courtney on October 28, 1955. To this union three children were born. He retired from Armstrong tire in 1988 after over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing with his wife, gardening, and playing pool at the senior center. He loved listening to his cubs, bears and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Most of all he enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Fry of Indianola; children, Edward (Sandra) Fry of Arispe, IA, Steve (Dixie) Fry of Indianola, Nancy (Max) Berry of Solon, IA; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, five sisters and one son-in-law.

Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 19 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m.  Memorials may be made in Edwards name to the Indianola Area Senior Center.  Online condolences may be made at www.overtonfunerals.com.
