Mrs. Swartzlander was  born June 6, 1921 to Leslie and Alice Hickman Jenner.  She was the thirteenth Jenner to be born at her grandparent's home in rural  Warren County. She was a farm homemaker and actively involved in the family farming operation.  She had also worked at Simpson College for several years and was a member of the Center Chapel United Methodist Church.  She had resided at The Village since May of 2002.

Survivors include her son, James Swartzlander of Salem, OR; daughter-in-law, Pat Swartzlander of Corydon, IA; grandchildren, Stephen (Tracy) and Michael Swartzlander (fiancé, Crystal Carver) and great-grandchild, Morgan Swartzlander.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; son, Robert; and sister, Shirley.

Visitation will be held 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 9, at Overton Funeral Home prior to services.  Memorials may be given to the Center Chapel United Methodist Church or The Good Shepherd Fund at The Village.  On Line condolences may be sent at www.overtonfunerals.com.
