Born in Toccapola, MS, Edgar had lived in Indianola and Des Moines. He was a long time employee of Lint Van Lines in Des Moines. He never knew a stranger and was a member of South Gate Masonic Lodge # 657 in Des Moines.

She is survived by wife, Marjorie; daughter Suzanne (Jeff) Glanville of Des Moines; 4 grandchildren, Elyn, Jason, Mackenzie and J.J.; 3 brothers, Wayne Sledge of Topeka, KS, Quitman Sledge of Des Moines and Herald Sledge of Altoona. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sara Elyn Sledge; his parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Visitation will be held 5 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 28 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be given to the family in his name.
