Obituary

Services for Earl Conrad Eichner, 92, who passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at home, will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 6 at the Indianola First Assembly of God Church with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Earl grew up in Central Iowa and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1940.  The family then moved to Warren County to farm.

He was united in marriage to Rachel Martens on December 28, 1948.  To this union three children were born, Robert, Kay and Karel.  Rachel passed away in 1985 and Earl retired from Armstrong Tire in 1987 after 24 years.  On June 4, 1988 he was united in marriage to Shirley Wolff.

Earl enjoyed gardening, watching sports; especially his son and grandsons play baseball, playing guitar and most of all sharing his faith with others.  He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Indianola and was a board member of Indianola New Life Singers for 12 years and taught Sunday school.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Eichner of Indianola; son, Robert (Karen) Eichner of Spirit Lake; daughter, Kay Eichner of Des Moines; step-children, Bob (Donna) Novak, Sharon (Wayne) Bueltel, John (Paula) Wolff, Bill (Jackie) Wolff; grandchildren, Benjamin Eichner, Ryan Eichner-Opseth, Joseph Eichner, step-grandchildren, Matthew Bueltel, Michael Bueltel, Nick Wolff, Erica Wolff, Michael Birke, James Birke, Daniel Fisher, Katie Fisher,; great-grandchild, Syrus Eichner; step-great grandchildren, Eden Bueltel, Avery Bueltel, Lincoln Wolff, Maddox Wolff, Alex Birke, Melodee Birke and Elora Birke.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rachel Eichner; daughter, Karel Eichner; sister, Charlotte Smith; brothers, Harold and Wayne Eichner; grandson, Matthew Eichner.
