Born south of Indianola in Warren County, Iowa, he was a retired farmer. He was a World War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy, 1943-46. He had lived in Milo, since 1963. He was a member of the Milo Christian Union Church.
Surviving are his wife Betty of Milo; three sons David (Kim) of Lacona, IA, Kyle and Kevin (Becky) of Indianola; two daughters Vicki King and Kathy King, both of Knoxville, IA; a brother Harlan King of Mt. Ayr, IA; and three sisters Lois Fetters and Vera Cope both of Carlisle, IA and Nadine Johnson of Lawrence, KS; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 2 – 7:30 p.m. Monday at Overton Funeral Home. Family will be present from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to greet friends. Memorials may be designated to The Village Good Shepard Fund and the Milo Christian Union Church.
