Visitation for Durl Glenn Westrum, 91, who passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Edencrest in Norwalk, will be held 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, September 26 at the Norwalk Christian Church where family will be present to greet friends. Burial will take place in the Norwalk Cemetery.

Durl learned to fly in 1947 retiring as chief pilot for Des Moines based Statesman Group around 1993. He was recipient of the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award. Certified Airframe and Powerplant Technician. He had a passion for anything that dealt with airplanes as well as compiling over 20,000 flight hours.

Durl is survived by his wife of 71 years, Barbara; children, Chris (John) Criswell, Tami (Maurice) Conley, Troy Westrum; grandchildren, Heidi (Scott) Hace, Tom (Lana) Criswell, Hilary (Seth) Hutcheson, Heather Conley, Jordan Conley, Sean (Dani) Westrum, Bryn Westrum; great-grandchildren, Will and Lauren Hace, Jessa, Celia and Meira Criswell, Jensen Whipple, Rylie and Gavin Westrum; sibling's, Jane (Pete) Pyott, Eugene, OR, Alan (Sharon) Westrum, Almogordo, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Sara Westrum; brother, Don Westrum.
