Douglas Wilhoit, 77, of Altoona, Iowa, was born January 17, 1947 and passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024 in Des Moines.

Doug enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball teams. He also followed the St. Louis Cardinals. In earlier times, he was an avid bowler with a perfect 300 game. He also enjoyed fishing in Canada with family. In the last few years due to failed eyesight, he mainly liked to play games on his phone as a pastime and also loved his cats.

Douglas is survived by his wife, Donna; son, Michael Ryan Wilhoit; sister, Suzan Lynn Morikis; brother, Gary Reid Wilhoit; nieces, Sarah, Laura, Christine, Nicole, Hannah and Krista; nephews, Sean, Nico, John, Jared, Bradley; grand dog, Bama; and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Eugene and Jeanette Margaret Wilhoit.
