Services for Dorothy Ruth (Blackford) Johnson, who was born July 11, 1924 in Warren County, Iowa to Floyd and Ruth Blackford, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2014 at North River Cemetery, Rural Warren County, Iowa. Dorothy passed away, Thursday, December 25 at Westview Care Center in Indianola at the age of 90. Dorthy was united in marriage to Byron E. Johnson on May 23, 1945 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Dorothy was a teacher in Warren County for over 40 years. She is survived by her children; Susan Graeser, Keith (Nancy) Johnson and Annette (Bill) Rath; eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron E. Johnson; son, Byron John Johnson; her parents; sister, Vera Riley; and two brothers, Donald and John Blackford. Memorials may be given to the Indianola Public Library or the Warren County Historical Foundation.
