Dorothy Foreman German, 90, of Council Bluffs, IA died at Hospice House in Omaha, NE, Tuesday, April 1, 2008. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 4 at the First Baptist Church in Indianola, IA, of which she was a member. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. at the Masonic Cemetery in Eagleville, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruby, husband Elden, and grandson Jeffery T. Milby.
Dorothy was born near Pawnee, MO graduating as Valedictorian of her class at Hatfield, MO. The German's moved to Indianola in the mid 1950's where she lived until the past few years when she joined her daughters in western Iowa. Her beautiful life was filled with music and poetry which she prolifically penned into her book of poems, "To Touch With Love."
Surviving are her daughters and families; Paulette & John Leighton; Joette & Larry Beck; grandchildren & families; Syndi & Ron Hackett, Josh, Drew & Isaac; Jason & Kelly Grobe, Chandler, Kelson & Jaelyn; Kaycee & Scott Hoffman, Mallory, Jackson & Benjamin; Preston & Lynette Grobe, Danikah, Preslyn & Raydden; two nephews, Ed Harris of Columbus, MI and Ed Bensyl of LasVegas, NV.
Friends may meet with the family prior to the service at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Memorials are requested to the Josie Harper Hospice House, Omaha, NE.
