DOROTHY FELLING

Graveside services for Dorothy Felling, 83, of Marengo, IA, who passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018, will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo, IA.

Dorothy grew up in Marion, IA. She was married, had three children, and worked in the abstract office in Cedar Rapids, IA. She later remarried in 1969 to Nyle Felling who she met at the dance hall in Cedar Rapids. Dorothy loved dancing.

She and the three children moved to Marengo, IA to Nyle's farm and she became a homemaker. In 1981 she went through a horrific tragedy. Dorothy loved being a mother and a wife of a farmer. She loved people, she had many friends and enjoyed spending time with them, whether it be shopping or playing cards or even just sitting around laughing while talking. Dorothy had a great sense of humor, but most of all she cared about all the people she had around her and in her life. She was a very special lady with a big heart.

She is survived by her son, Reo (Yvonne) Straw; grandchildren, Reonna (Nick) Berryhill, Regina Straw, Suze Straw mother of Sammy and Danny Straw; great-grandchildren, Emma and Cooper Hendrickson. She is preceded in death by her children, Danita Straw and Daniel Straw; husband, Nyle W Felling and her parents Edward and Dorothy Hartl.
