Dorothy Mae DeFreitas, 99, of  Indianola, passed away February 17, 2017 at Westview Care Center.  She moved from Jacksonville, IL in 1999 to live close to her son and his family in Indianola. While here she was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church.  She had been a retail clerk, employed for many years in a super market and Woolworth Stores in Illinois and was a long-time member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir and serving on Session there.

She will be fondly remembered by her son, John (Beverly) Anderson; three grandchildren: Rita Watson, Kirk (Amy) Anderson of Plattsmouth, NE and Kirby (Amy) Anderson of St. Johns, FL; four great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Daniel of East Peoria, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Indianola. Burial will be held in the Indianola I.O.O.F.
