Doris Arlene Williams, 83, of Medora, IA, passed away peacefully Monday at Mercy Hospice in Johnston, IA after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loving family members.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Mike (Murt) of Altoona, Tim (Paula) of Indianola, Bruce (Michele) of Runnells; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Ellen Van Zee of Osceola. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lyle; grandson, Ace; parents, Bill and Mary Lepley; sister, Esther; and brothers, Lee, Ray, and Herb.

Doris was very active in the Medora Methodist Church and Ladies Aid. Her days were filled with quilting, cooking, caring for her garden, camping, boating, and visiting with her family and friends. She will always be fondly remembered for her warm smiles, hearty food and caring ways.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 14, at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, January 15 at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in the New Virginia Cemetery.
