IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Doris Ann
Webster
April 20, 1946 – January 21, 2026
Celebration of Life Services for Doris Ann Webster, 79, of Indianola, who passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, with her loving children by her side, will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. The family will greet friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m., prior to services at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
Doris was united in marriage to William "Bill" Webster on April 26, 1968. They first resided in Des Moines, where they welcomed their daughter Teresa and son Adam. As the children grew and Bill was driving charter buses out of state, Doris would pack a lunch and drinks and she and the children would head up the bike trail (12 to 20 miles) following the Des Moines River. Sometimes making it clear up to Big Creek. Doris would also take the children fishing. The rule was that she doesn't put the worm on or take it off, nor did she take off whatever you caught. The family eventually moved to Indianola around 1985.
Doris loved to go on long trips in the camper with Bill and also close by with friends and family. She loved working out in the yard mowing or tending her flowers. Bill would take her fishing and she would just throw the line in and sit, or she would start with a worm on the hook and three hours later still have the line out with no worm. Doris loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Doris took Teresa's children out to the lake to drive around. Some how they got very lost to the point they had to stop and ask a farmer how to get back to town. Another time Doris took them out to banner flats to walk around the whole thing. They got half way around and it was getting dark. Doris mentioned something about lions and bears; it didn't take Jacob long to get to the car.
Doris loved to cook and bake with Adam's girls. They watched movies together and liked staying the night.
Doris loved her great-grand babies so much and wanted to see them grow up. They loved their Mamas, especially Jace.
All-in-all, Doris Webster had a big heart and would always help if she could. The family will all love and miss you Mom and Mamas.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Larry Johnson) Smith; son, Adam (Libby Garber) Webster; grandchildren, Jacob (Megan) Smith, Courtney (Tyler Hart) Smith, Marissa Webster, and Tabitha Webster; great-grandchildren, Emilee, Jace, and Maisie Smith; brother, Edward (Jolene) Curtis Smith; and sister, Helen Annete Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Webster; parents, Carl and Elva Reed Smith; six brothers, George Edward Smith, Basil Charles Smith, Carlton Cecil Smith, Ramon Lester Smith, Donald Dean Smith and Gordon R. Smith; and one sister, Karen Grace Smith.
Memorials in memory of Doris may be given to the family.
