Services for Doris Palmer, 71, of Des Moines, who passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023 in Des Moines, will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Doris Ann Snodgrass was born on  February 27, 1952 the daughter of Kenneth and Velma Maxine (Foust)  Snodgrass.  She attended grade school in Spring Hill and graduated from Indianola High School in 1969.  Following her graduation, she worked at Farmland Insurance and then became a homemaker for several years.  Doris then went to work bartending at the Indianola bowling alley before going to work at Sudsuckers in Des Moines retiring in 2020.

Doris enjoyed her coffee, shopping, garage sales, motorcycle rides and vacations on the Harley.  Most importantly she loved her family and getting together.

Doris is survived her husband, Gilbert; children, Mark (Brenda) Stephens, Michelle (Christina) Stephens, Darrin (Samantha) Palmer; grandchildren, Josh (Karmin) Stephens, Tanner (Ryan) Rohlf, Camden Palmer, Dean Mcloud, Grayson Palmer, Asher Palmer and Ryan Gilliland; great grandchildren, Romen and Leila Gilliland and her very close friends Cindy Morgan and Debra Bauma.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Maxine Snodgrass.
