Services for Doris M. Lawson, 98, who died, Saturday, September 24, 2005 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center in Indianola, will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28th at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola.  Burial will be in the I.O.O.F Cemetery, Indianola.

Mrs. Lawson was born October 8, 1906 in Indianola, the daughter of Frank and Nellie Lester.  Her marriage to Walter P. Lawson took place on December 23, 1939 at the Woodward Avenue Presbyterian Church in Detroit, Michigan.  She and her husband made their home in Detroit until 1966 when they retired to Indianola.  Walter preceded her in death on January 17, 1985.

Mrs. Lawson was a homemaker and mother, raising her only child, Blair.  She was a member of the Trinity United Presbyterian Church and the Warren County Genealogical Society.

Survivors include her son, Blair Lawson and his wife, Marilyn Pilgrim Lawson of Indianola; 3 step-grandchildren, Kevin (Frani) Pilgrim of Gravette, AR, Denise (Robert) Goff of Sandy, UT, Noel (Christina) Pilgrim of Folsom, CA; 8 step great-grandchildren; 2 step great-great-grandchildren; 2 nephews and 3 great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter-in-law, Margaret Lawson; 2 brothers, Harold and Orville Lester and a niece.

Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 27th at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where the family will be present to greet friends during this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Trinity United Presbyterian Church Building Fund, Indianola.
