Doris Elaine Brown, 89, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at home.

Doris was born October 25, 1930 in Wheatland, Illinois to Edward Melvin and Harriet Ann (Morris) Miller.  She had lived in Illinois before moving to Davenport, IA.  She retired as a school aide in the Buffalo School District.  Following retirement, she and her husband Darvin Brown of Indianola returned to his home town in the mid 1980's.

She enjoyed mule riding and had raised some Grand Champion Mules.  She also enjoyed animals, nature and was a hobby nature photographer.

She is survived by her children Kathie Castello and Rich Cooke; grandchildren, Doug Cooke and Heather (Ross) Sallade; great-grandchildren, Emma, Hayden and Elizabeth Sallade; sister, Anna Mae Mason.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Darvin Brown; brothers, Lawrence Miller and Joe Miller and a sister.
