DONNA ISABELLE ALEXANDER Prole Donna Isabelle Alexander died peacefully at her home on April 10, 2012. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, April 13, at the Overton Funeral Home at 501 W. Ashland Ave., Indianola, Iowa. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Donna was born June 18, 1927 in Mahaska County to Albert and Sarah Sytsma. She grew up around Oskaloosa and went to high school there. She married Willis "Bud" Alexander October 6, 1945. They moved to Warren County where they farmed and were happily married for nearly 67 years. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Rodger; one infant grandson, Jay; three sisters, Evelyn, Bernice, and Delores; and five brothers, Albert, Rodney, Danny, Stanley, and Forest. She is survived by her husband, Willis " Bud", and one son, Steven (Shirley), of Longmont, CO. There are four grandchildren: Matthew of Thornton, CO; Shane (Carla) of Jackson, TN; and Jesse and Buffy, both of Prole, IA. There are also four great-grandchildren: Chase, Levi, Natasha, and Wyatt. Donna is also survived by one sister, Bonnie May Sedrel. Donna helped Bud on the farm for most of the years of their marriage. She was devoted to her family and much loved by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she helped to raise. She was an excellent cook, and known for a mischievous sense of humor. Memorial contributions may be made to the Osceola office of Hospice of Central Iowa.
