Services for Donald James Maples, 72, of Indianola, who passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home, will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Visitation will be held prior to services from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.  Cremation will follow services and inurnment of cremains will be at a later date in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Des Moines.

Don is survived by his sisters, Caroline Hansbrough and Marilynn Peters; nephews, Wayne Hansbrough and Ray Van Zanten; nieces, Anne (Jerry) Hinson and Madalyn (J.C.) Anderson; several great nephews and nieces.  He was preceded in death by his wife Marcy Maples; and parents, Donald and Helen Maples.

Memorials in memory of Don, may be given to the VA Central Iowa Health Care System.
