DONALD STANFORD GOODRICH Indianola Donald Stanford Goodrich was born was born September 26, 1927 in Benson, MN and passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at The Village in Indianola. Don grew up in Minnesota and joined the United States Army at the age of 18. He served for 6 years stationed in Japan and Alaska. On June 11, 1950, he married the love of his life, Darlene Stalter. They were blessed with two sons, Larry (Karen) and Rick (Rhonda). In 1963, the family settled into their farm outside of St Marys, Iowa. Don is survived by his sons; three grandchildren, Emily Rolfe, Kerry Goodrich and Eric Goodrich; great-grandsons, Jacob, Colton, Cade and Shane; brothers, Lyle (Monica) and Bob (Sue), Dewey (Sheryl); and sister, Cheryl Dee; along with countless nieces and nephews. Don loved his family and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, farming, playing cards, watching football and reading about history. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Darlene, grandson Brad Goodrich, and sister Wilma Conard. Services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, June 5 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services starting at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
