DONALD FORRET Indianola Services for Donald Forret, 64, who died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the University of Iowa Medical Center in Iowa City will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 26 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with cremation following services. Don was born November 27, 1946 in Perry, Iowa to Charlotte and John Conrad Forret. He lived with his parents and brother, Rich Forret in Indianola for much of his life. Don went to Indianola High School and attended Simpson College. Don and Darlene were married August 3, 1997 in Tingley Iowa. He taught school for 33 years and loved to tell jokes to his class. He is well known for his coaching of football, track and wrestling, and was very proud of all those he coached, including Casey Blake. After his retirement, he worked in real estate. His greatest enjoyment was fishing, telling fish stories, and sports of all levels. He was also an avid Hawkeye fan. Survivors include his wife, Darlene; step children, David Fairfield, Debbie Fairfield and Shawn Dyke; grandchildren, Tamisha Dyke Sewell, David Walker, Amber Walker, James Walker Courtney Walker, Joshua Fairfield, Aaron Fairfield and Shannon Fairfield; great grandchildren, Trent Willis, Shawn Walker, Garreth Walker, Heidie Walker, Carter Walker, Isabelle Dyke, Sarafina Walker and Gabriel Walker; brother, Richard (Elaine) Forret and nieces, Traci (Jesse) McAninch and Kristie Forret; and great nieces, Kayla and Emma Rieger. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 25 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Indianola Community Youth Foundation.
