IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diana Sue
Johnson
July 2, 1945 – April 7, 2024
Diana Sue Johnson was born on July 2, 1945, to Elmer and Ruby Lager in Adair County, Iowa. She passed peacefully on April 7, 2024. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial following in the Greenfield Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home.
On April 5, 1964, Diana exchanged vows with Paul Victor Johnson Jr. Their union was blessed with three wonderful sons – Paul III, Michael, and Jeffrey. Diana dedicated many years of her life to service, working at Casey General Store for 10 years and later at Walmart for 12.5 years, where she retired in 2012 due to medical reasons. She cherished her role as a cashier, building meaningful connections with each customer she served. Known for her impeccable sense of style, Diana always took great care in her appearance, ensuring her hair and makeup were flawless before starting her day.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her sons Paul III, Michael, and Jeffrey, along with their loving families. Paul III and his wife Angela, with daughters Elizabeth and Catherine; Michael and his wife Monique, with daughters Amanda and Michaela; Jeffrey and his wife Tammy, with children Britney and Cole. Diana is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved parents. She is also survived by her sisters Shirley Baker of Indianola and Jolene Nelsen of Anita; and her cherished friend Lavere Smith, who held a special place in her heart. Though she may have left this earthly realm, Diana's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace. Memorials in Diana's memory may be given to Kiya Koda Humane Society for the new Building Project.
