Diana Sue Harwood, 77, of Des Moines, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at home in Des Moines. She was born June 12, 1945 in Indianola, IA. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home. Interment will be held in the IOOF Cemetery.

She and sister Linda grew up with the watchful eye under Grandma June and Great-grandma Demory. She spent her childhood days running around with two handfuls of cousins, in town or on a farm.

She was united in marriage to Ray "Gene" Harwood in 1960 and then settling in Des Moines, IA. Where they raised one son Richard.

Diana is survived by her husband, Ray Gene Harwood for 62 years; son, Richard (Penny) Harwood; grandson, Richard "Buddy" (Lacy) Harwood; two great-grandsons, Riley and Ryder Harwood and a host of nieces and nephews. Diana was preceded in death by her mother, June Willcockson; sister, Linda Johnson.

Memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue League in her name.
