DIANA L. HAGEN Indianola Diana Hagen, 53, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at her home. Diana was born on September 13, 1961 in Des Moines, Iowa, to her parents Judy Kirby-Hagen-Lange (deceased 2010) and Francis "Chub" Hagen (deceased 1990). As a young girl, she enjoyed playing with her two sisters, her brother, and numerous cousins. She lived in Bevington, Iowa when she proudly graduated from Martensdale-St. Mary's High School in 1981. Diana lived most of her adult life in Indianola and worked several years at Paul's Restaurant on the square in Indianola as a cook and server. She enjoyed camping with her sister, Debbie, as well as with her sons, family, and friends. She enjoyed craft projects, including special remembrances for her sons and scrapbooking. Playing cards with her older brother, Mark was another pastime, as well as assembling puzzles. She attended Eternity Church in Clive, Iowa with her boyfriend Jackson. She was loved by many and became a mother figure to many as she listened to their problems and offered a shoulder to cry on. She was known for her sense of humor, kind smile, and special laugh. She is survived by her sons, Ryan Hagen of Mitchellville, Tim Macdonald and Jesse Macdonald, both of Indianola; siblings, Debbie James of Des Moines, Karen (Gerard) Matysik of Pella, and Mark Hagen of Indianola, as well as several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Overton Funeral Home, with services at 2:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date.
