Celebration of Life Services for Dennis Loyd Reed, 68, of Indianola, who passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2025 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Dennis was born on October 16, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Errol and Alice (Leighton) Reed.  Dennis graduated from South East Warren Community Schools the class of 1975.  Following graduation, he entered in the United States Army serving at Ft. Leonard Wood, Kitzengen, Germany, Ft. Lewis Washington, Des Moines, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia and finishing his enlistment in Germany.

Following his service in the Army he starting driving truck over-the-road retiring in 2012.

He is survived by his children, David "D.J." Reed and Brandi  Saffeels; grandchildren, Nichole Saffeels, Halley (Sean) Winchester and Devon Saffeels; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Adrielle; brothers, Darl (Flora) Reed and Darren (Lori) Reed and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Errol and Alice Reed; son-in-law, Dale Ryan Saffeels and sisters, Connie Patton and Christy Miller.

Visitation will be held prior to services from 12:30 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.  Memorials in memory of Dennis may be given to Wounded Warriors Project.
