Dennis Dale Fetters, 66, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at home, surrounded by the people he loved and cared for, following a long battle with leukemia. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 3, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Dennis's body will be cremated.

Dennis was born February 18, 1941, in rural Warren County. He graduated from Carlisle High School and Northwest Missouri State University. He was an economic developer with the Office for Planning and Programming with the State of Iowa and then for the Iowa Department of Economic Development. He retired in 2000 from Iowa Valley Community College where he was the director of business assistance. He was a member of the Middle River Friends Church, Carlisle.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; sons, John, Los Angeles, California, Ryan, Carlisle, and Andrew (Amy), Van Meter; daughters, Kerry Raymond (Jerry), Towson, Maryland, and Ana Gilliam, Des Moines; grandchildren Jenna Gilliam, Colton Gilliam, Emma Fetters, Julia Raymond, and Michael Raymond; his mother, Lois Fetters, Carlisle; brothers, Darrell (Ruth), Carlisle, Dwight (Karla), Carlisle, and Doran (Kathy), Des Moines; and many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Dwaine Fetters; brother, Dean; and sister, Donna.
