Services for Dennis Ferguson, 72, who passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 19 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial with military rites will follow in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery. He was born January 4, 1941 in Milo, IA the son of Gerald and Dorothy Ferguson. He owned Ferg's Barber Shop in Des Moines from 1969 to 2001 and retired in 2005. Survivors include his wife, Sharon; brother, Jerry (Judi) Ferguson; step-children, Marty (Sonya) Chittenden, Trevor Chittenden and Shannon (Steve Marr) Chittenden; four step-grandchildren, Emma and Seth Chittenden and Blake and Sierra Chittenden; nieces, Kasey, Nicki and Beth.. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter Cathy Ferguson. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 18 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Des Moines Izaak Walton League or Animal Rescue League.
