A Celebration of Life Service for Dennis Irwin Carroll, 66, of Milo, Iowa, who passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, will be held 11 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2024, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date in the Ackworth Cemetery.

Dennis played a huge part in the lives of his family, friends and loved ones. He was a hard worker and the first to be there when anyone needed his help. He would give any person in need the shirt off his back! He truly had a heart of giving and helping and had a passion for his family. His weekends were spent with his son Dustin on so many projects like, fixing cars, building fence, remodeling their houses, and farming each other's land. The two of them were inseparable. They were best of friends. They would work to accomplish a task and when finished, knew they did a great job together. If anyone knew Dennis, they knew he was so proud of his son.

Dennis grew up horseback riding and showing horses. He was a true equestrian and shared and passed that passion on to his daughter, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters. He was so fortunate to spend many summers trail riding, camping, and at shows watching his daughter and granddaughters do what he loved. The love he had for his girls was unconditional.

He lived his life with the woman he loved for 50 years. They were stuck together at the hip and did it all together! The love the two of them shared, was a true love story. They met in high school and it never stopped from there. It was always them against the world. It was a forever kind of love through hell and high water, they were bound to make it through. She, was his! At the end of every phone call, they would never forget to say, "love you" before saying goodbye.

Family was everything to Dennis and he spent his years making memories with the ones he loved.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Dawn; children, Dustin (Shannon) Carroll, Danielle Carroll; three granddaughters, Taylor Richards, Jocelyn Miller, Arya Richards; sister, Becky (Richard) Long; many nieces and nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" and Wilma Carroll; and niece, Selena Benz.

Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 28, at the funeral home, where family will be present to greet friends. Memorials in memory of Dennis may be given to a charity of your choice.
