Funeral services for Delmer Carl Kalbus, 89, who passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in Indianola, will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the Fairview Community Church 19705 US-69, Indianola, IA 50125 with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9 to 10:30 prior to service at the church.

Delmer was born July 14, 1932 to Alfred and Emma Kalbus in Ellendale, ND. He worked for Hastings ammunition depot in Hastings, NE. Delmer logged walnut tree all over the United Sates. He married Martha Storie in June 8, 1952 and moved to Des Moines, IA. He then went to work for Willits before starting his own landscaping business, Del's Landscaping. Among other jobs he drove school bus for Indianola, he was the head maintenance at Good Samaritan.

He married Shirley Bishop (Stalter) in April 15, 2006. He and Shirley worked at the Jericho Hills Campground in Lucas, IA. They enjoyed putting together puzzles and playing pitch.

He also traveled to Africa 3 times for with Christian Union Missionary to help the Effic people as well as being very involved with Fairview Community Church.

Delmer is survived by his children, Debbie Weeks, Carla (Terry) Harrell, Connie Kalbus, Kevin (Denise) Kalbus; grandchildren, Travis, Trevor, Ryan, Tyson, Kaylee, Bradee, Karina, Kinnick, Storie; great-grandchildren, Hanna, Ashton, Dylan, Emily, Oscar, Walt, Opal, Vivian, Sadie, Gary (Gus); brother, Jim (Karen) Kullnat, Gary (Linda) Kullnat; sister, Sylvia Achen; and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha; wife, Shirley; son, Doug; brother, Ray Kullnat.

Memorials may be given in his name to Fairview Community Church.
