Services for Delma Mae McDole, 94, of Indianola, who died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, December 14, 2024 will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery

Delma was born on April 5, 1930 in Swan, Iowa the daughter of Myrtle and James Houston.

Delma graduated from Indianola High School in 1949.  After graduation she worked for Peoples Trust and Savings Bank (Regions).  Later, she worked in the kitchen at the Carlisle Care Center.

Delma was united in marriage to Edward Junior McDole on September 2, 1950.  Together they had three children, Sheryl, Brian and Kenny.  They farmed and raised livestock.

Delma was a homemaker a good share of her life.  Her life was dedicated to taking care of her family.  She was a people person; she enjoyed being outdoors, dancing and especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She shared a quote freely that her mom often said "If you are not doing for others, you are not doing."

Delma was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Junior Houston, and twin infant sisters Helen and Ellen, her husband Ed, and son Kenny. She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl McDole and son Brian (Sonja) McDole, as-well-as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held prior to services from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials in memory of Delma may be given to the Carlisle Care Center- Activities Department or St. Croix Hospice.
